Here are the survivors of Sunday’s shooting:
D’Sean Perry The school junior was a linebacker for Virginia who played in 15 football games over the last three seasons. Yet, when he wasn’t playing football, he was an artist majoring in Studio Art. Perry was known as a standout understudy, athlete and artist at Gulliver Preparatory School in Pinecrest, Fla. The school’s leader, Precipice Kling, recalled his artwork and impact fondly.

Kling said Perry won his admiration for his ceramics project at a 2018 spring art show, Local10.com revealed.
“Talking to him at the art show felt like I had known him forever,” Kling said. “After you had an experience with him, you were better for it. He was a brilliant mind, caring heart.”
Devin Chandler The school junior played wide recipient and kick returner for UVA after transferring from the College of Wisconsin, where he was as yet dearest.
“Once a badger, always a badger,” College of Wisconsin interim head coach and Cautious Coordinator Jim Leonhard tweeted Monday. “He had a lasting impact on his teammates, even after he left UW, which is a testament to the kind of person he was,” Leonhard stated. “His personality was infectious and he was a delight to be around. Our team is hurting for him and his family.”
Chandler graduated from Hough Secondary School in North Carolina, where his coach Matt Jenkins told columnists he was “an outstanding young fellow.”
“He has an infectious personality and unbelievable grin,” Jenkins recalled. “Consistently, he brought an energy and exuberance about him to practice and school and everything that he did.”
Lavel Davis Jr. The school junior was a leading wide beneficiary on the team with 16 catches for 371 yards and two scores for the year, according to the team’s site.
However, in addition to football, he cherished old ’90s films, Shakespeare and reading the Book of scriptures, he said in a video last year for the team’s official Twitter account. “Me and my companions like to hang out and laugh, watch films. I’m a big motion pictures person,” he said last year. “Virginia is the ideal place for anybody who wants to try sincerely and be great.”
In a GoFundMe account created by a companion of the family to help pay for funeral costs, Davis — known as Tyler to companions — is portrayed as a young fellow with a big heart.
“Tyler was a star both on and off the field. He played his heart out for UVA and wanted to be the best, and he was,” according to the site.
“He cherished his parents, his family, his local area, and he had an adoration for football like no other.”
